I'm So Over It!

Do you ever have those days where you just want to sit and cry. Everything seems to be piling up on top of you and you are buried underneath and you can't get out? There's laundry that needs to be done, dinner that needs to be cooked, house that needs to be cleaned and all you want to do is binge on Netflix in bed after working a 10 hour day!
Yep! Me too! As a salon owner, hairstylist behind the chair, wife, mom and daughter the daily grind becomes overwhelming and exhausting! I sometimes just don't know what to do with myself. I have so much to do and don't know where to start!
My children, thankfully, help out a lot and I am very grateful for what they do around the house. But, I mean they are still kids and don't do everything that needs to be done. That still leaves me with dinner 3 nights a week, salon work that doesn't involve actually doing hair, actually doing hair, getting children to and from school, and then there's taking care of myself! So I guess it's time to get my life organized! Where do I start though?
How does one get organized so that the overwhelm doesn't take over and quitting doesn't become the only way out? I have no idea but I am going to try and find out!

Here's just one thing I have going on that is already helping me. Since I work 4 days a week my mom, who's retired, preps dinners for us for the days that I work. I can not tell you how amazing it is to not have to think about what I am going to cook for dinner! My mom has really taken a huge chunk out of my stress just by fixing us dinner. Now I know most do not have a mom who is able to do this but, I want to talk a little about the benefits of meal prepping. Not only does it save you time, it saves you money as well. With my kids, they will try anything once and as long as they are being fed, they are pretty much good to go. Once a week we go to the grocery store and buy our big stuff. Our meats, canned goods, and boxed good all things that can go in the freezer and pantry. Then we stock up on stuff for school since Lydia takes her lunch to school everyday. The smaller stuff, like veggies and more perishable items we buy more often during the week so that they don't have a chance to spoil. Now it's even easier to shop for groceries because now you can do it all from your phone! I have used the Walmart Grocery and Pickup app https://grocery.walmart.com/ and may I just say it is pretty awesome! I make my list, open my app, check everything that i need and schedule a pick up time. If I do it early enough in the morning I can usually pick it up later in the afternoon. Otherwise, I pick it up the next day. I don't really like buying my fruits and veggies yet, I am a little picky when it comes to my avocados, so I usually stop on the way home from school or work and grab what we need.
We are by no means pros at this yet but we are trying and getting better at it. Like with anything else practice makes better. I would like to be able to get to where I can meal prep for lunch too but as of right now, that is an attainable goal for the future.
So far having meals ready even if it's just for dinner has made a huge difference in my life, yes my mom is a huge part of that and I thank her everyday for it!
Next I think I will be working on time management! I really need to put pen to paper and write out a plan that I can stick to!
Wish me luck! I let you know how it goes
